What a treat to bundle up and head to downtown Grand Rapids for ArtPrize. From drawings, dream jars, paintings, coins, fish, and everything in between, the exhibits spread through out the downtown area were engaging and a great family event. ArtPrize is a great way to get kids interacting with art. Did any of you see the bells in the VanAndel museum? How fun!
Here's a few of the many creative exhibits.
The
Panorama of the Grand Rapids cityscape made up of tiny Styrofoam balls.
A common sight for us...just not in downtown GR. I loved this one.
I'm not sure if my kids were more excited about the art or the cousins...
What delightful fun finding little surprises around every corner. Sophie and Noah waited in line for "Play Me, I'm Yours". At another piano spot I saw a woman with big poofed hair, curled bangs, swaying back and forth as she delivered some beautiful toe-tapping tunes. Her husband was just beaming at her and looking around as if to say, "That's right, that's my wife." Made me smile.
This was my personal favorite--although it was not nearly as impressive as the other exhibits, it had a certain charm about it.
Did you go? What did you think?

Looks great. Would have loved to go. Glad you had a great day. Thinking of, and praying for you, often.
I saw a picture of the Rubik's cube one somewhere...very cool. Love that blue dress.
Terry, wish you guys had been here too. Thanks for your prayers, we really miss your company and friendship.
Kate, I didn't see the Rubik's cube either. The dress was made from all tossed clothes, fun!
