Furniture Delivery

Today our furniture delivery arrived...it didn't quite come in an Art Van Truck. The bell rang at the gate and I went to open it. I was greeted with a gentle old Cambodian man on his...bicycle! Yes, he had biked 10 miles on a bike with a makeshift trailer (a few boards strapped on a two wheels) loaded high with our couch, two chairs, and a table through busy, congested traffic. I was amazed he made it safely. Anyways, the next hurdle was getting the furniture up the stairs. The couch could not fit up the stairs so he had the idea of lifting it up to the balcony on the second floor with ropes. Well it takes two to lift a couch with ropes from a balcony! So there we sat, the old Cambodian man with a weathered, smiling face and me, this short western girl, hoisting up a couch to the second floor. It must have looked pretty funny because he couldn't stop laughing as we lifted it up. But the mission was accomplished. Just some more hilarity that we encounter on a daily basis.
