Cambodia

After months of researching different teaching options Darryl has accepted a teaching position in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia for the next school year, 2005-2006. The Lord willing, Darryl will begin teaching Bible and History classes to grades 6 through 10 at Logos International School. Darryl is anxious to begin teaching after many years of school!

I was particularly excited to find out that the school would like me to buy the books for their growing library—they get a grant from donors each year for new books. They are not only aware that I'm partial to Reformed literature, but supportive of it! I will be working with the teachers at the school to integrate these books into their classes.

The school also takes care of 50 Cambodian orphans; we are looking forward to being involved in their care. I think Sophie will be excited to find so many little friends.

You're probably wondering how we found out about this place! Darryl put his resume up on www.asci.org and received about 50 emails from all over the world desiring a Reformed, male Bible teacher. It was a bit overwhelming to consider the many compelling needs world wide! But the Lord has been faithful in guiding and directing us to Logos International School. God’s providence is very comforting that he is intimately involved with the details of our lives, especially as you look back! We are also grateful that both of us will have specific tasks in our areas of interest and skill.

If you’d like to check out the school their website is http://www.logoscambodia.org/. We are signing a contract for a year and are tentatively planning on staying there longer unless the Lord directs us elsewhere. Please pray that the Lord will make us useful for Him.
